Artspeaks India is a New Delhi-based arts and culture initiative that seeks to facilitate and highlight the visual arts in South Asia through exhibitions, public art initiatives, community-outreach programmes and publications.
Monsoon Malabar ran a media outreach campaign for ‘Poetry of Lived Spaces: A Brush with the Lens’ (2021), an online exhibition hosted by Artspeaks India, featuring the work of artists Ravi Agarwal, Shivani Aggarwal, Aditya Arya, Sandeep Biswas, Shruti Chandra Gupta, Sarah Kaushik, Shalini Passi, Gigi Scaria, Parul Sharma, Sarah Singh and Vikram Singh. Curated by Georgina Maddox, ‘Poetry of Lived Spaces’ documents the changing realities in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Each of the artists trains their eye on deserted streets, abandoned neighbourhoods and everyday domestic spaces during the lockdown, reflected in their photographs, sketches and digital montages.
